The Alaska Rainforest Island’s is a cooperative regional marketing effort between the Petersburg Economic Development Council, Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, City of Wrangell, the Prince of Wales Island Chamber of Commerce, and the Inter-Island Ferry Authority.
The goal of the project is to help local residents and businesses find ways to expand tourism in the region, while guiding growth to limit any possible adverse affects.
This effort was initiated through the DART (Developing Alaska Rural Tourism) Program sponsored by the Alaska Department of Commerce Economic Development with funding provided by the U.S. Economic Development Administration.
