Kiva Zip aims to expand access to capital for micro-enterprises, to lower costs of capital, and to increase connections between borrowers and lenders. PEDC is a Kiva Zip trustee.

PEDC Loan Collateral Guarantee Program
Assists local residents to obtain the necessary financing for purchasing, establishing, or expanding a small business by guaranteeing collateral.

Southeast Alaska Revolving Loan Fund [jedc.org]
JEDC offers direct loans at a fixed rate and with terms that can be structured to fit a new business' cash flow. JEDC stretches its loan funds by lending cooperatively with commercial banks and other public loan programs to maximize available financing and arrange the overall best terms for its borrowers.

U.S. Small Business Administration [www.sba.gov/]
Offers loan guarantee and other financing options for small businesses through commercial lenders.

USDA Rural Loans [www.rurdev.usda.gov/]
Guarantees up to 80% of loan made by a commercial lender to start or expand a rural business.

Grants

Value Added Producer’s Grants, USDA

Grants may be used for planning activities and for working capital for marketing value-added agricultural products and for farm-based renewable energy. Eligible applicants are independent producers, farmer and rancher cooperatives, agricultural producer groups, and majority-controlled producer-based business ventures.
